Meet the US Anchors of YTVB Season 2

Jason Santo is a teacher at Geneva High School (GHS) where he has taught television production and film since 2011. In addition to teaching he runs GTV, GHS’ student television studio and sports network and is the Assistant Athletic Director for the winter sports season. During his time with GTV his students have won many major local and nationals awards for both film and journalism. Prior to teaching, Mr. Santo was a sports anchor and reporter for WBKB – TV in Alpena, Michigan and a sports producer for WDIV-TV in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and earned a master’s degree in teaching from National Louis. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family outdoors, umpiring baseball games, or watching the Chicago Blackhawks try to win another Stanley Cup.

Katelyn Keenehan is a Junior at Geneva High School. She has been a part of GTV for three years and has traveled to three STN conventions. Her Freshman year Katelyn won 5th in the nation for Live Reporting and anchored for the 5th in the country newscast. Also in 2015 she was part of the reporting team that placed 4th in the nation for the STN news package challenge. In 2016 Katelyn competed in Natural Sound Package and finished 2nd in the country. And in 2017 she placed 2nd in the Spot Feature Competition. Some of Katelyn’s favorite stories to cover are heartwarming stories about people and events that you may not know about. When Katelyn is not in the GTV studio she likes to volunteer at various foodbanks, and spend time outdoors.

Jacob Miller is a Junior at Geneva High school. He is an aspiring filmmaker. When he is not making movies, he is probably watching them. Along with being involved in the television program at his high school he participates in theatre. He looks forward to creating and sharing art in his future.

Payton Dahlin is a junior at Geneva High School. In his free time, Payton studies music, films, and literature in order to find new ways to improve his own art. He plans on studying film in college. He’s very excited to be a part of the Social Expertise Exchange

Izzy Schamberger is a sophomore at Geneva high school. She is involved in the film program, and spends most of her time in the studio. Her other interests include playing ukelele, wood whittling, and watching Gravity Falls. She is very excited to be taking part in the Social Expertise Exchange.
